Alphabet

The Louisiana Creole alphabet has many of the same letters as the English alphabet (with exception of "c", "q" and "x") but they are
pronounced differently. There are three additonal special letters called a e ligature (Æ), o e ligature (Œ) and circumflex (Ç) along with many accents over
the 5 vowles in the language. Listen to the entire alphabet by clicking on the video icon above (please note that the sound file is 18.1 mb) or click on the individual letter to hear it pronounced.

Alt code is available.

Tip #1: If you want to type special characters with accent marks (like the letters à or è), simply tap and hold the corresponding
alphabet key for a while and it will pop-up a list of related accented characters for you to choose from. Don’t release the key before making
a selection else the choices will disappear.
